Sprague-Dawley male rats were fed a high-fat diet for six weeks before ACLT + MMx surgery. Daily oral gavage with saline (control, OA, and OBOA), either accompanied by FJC (20, 40, or 100 mg/kg body weight) or glucosamine sulfate (GS; 200 mg/kg body weight), was performed for six weeks following the surgery. The administration of FJC to obese rats resulted in a decrease in fat weight, triglyceride levels, and total cholesterol. Subsequently, FJC decreased the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha, cyclooxygenase-2, and nitric oxide; it hampered the expression of leptin and adiponectin; and it lessened the rate of cartilage breakdown. Searches were conducted to locate systematic reviews employing meta-analytic procedures to examine behavioral interventions for childhood obesity prevention/treatment, covering the period from January 2016 to October 2019. The summary effect sizes (ES) resulting from each meta-analysis's computation were collected. The meta-analyses sorted constituent individual studies into four groups: self-identified pilot/feasibility studies; sample size-based pilot/feasibility studies (N100, N>100, N>370, including the upper 75th percentile); and others. The VoE represented the absolute difference (ABS) between the re-evaluated summary effect sizes (ES) restricted to study classifications and the original summary effect size (ES) report. A statistical concordance (kappa) analysis was performed to determine the significance of the summary effect size (ES) across the four study categories. Estimating fixed and random effects models, in conjunction with meta-regressions, was undertaken.
